Who am I?
Well there is the boring stuff...you can scroll down further to the bottom of the page for my basic bio.

I am a lover of animals, food, my family, children, kindness, compassion, travel, and experiences. I believe in mindfulness but I also believe that it is nearly impossible to be mindful all the time. I believe in trying to approach the world with curiousity, good self care, and a strong cup of coffee. I look forward to meeting you!

About Me:

I received my Master of Education in Educational Counseling from the University of Texas at Austin. I have previously worked at SafePlace, where I worked with individuals who had experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. I also worked at Bowie High School College and Career Center, where I provided career and academic counseling to high school students and co-facilitated an adolescent grief support group. I have previously worked in clinical settings both at a community mental health center (Bluebonnet MHMR in Round Rock) and in a psychiatric hospital (Rock Springs Hospital). Those clinical settings gave me valued experience working with indvidiuals who had been diagnosed with severe psychiatric illnesses including, but not limited to, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Severe Recurrent Depression, etc.

I work with individuals who have many different issues and concerns including anxiety and depression. I specialize in working with people who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, and trauma.  I also specialize in working with individuals who are highly self critical and women and men dealing with infertility concerns. I have a special interest in working with the LGBTQI community and my Master’s Report focused on Domestic Violence in the LGBT community.

Fun Fact #1: I attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston where Beyonce attended for 1 year.  Members of Blue October also went to my high school. I am a musician at heart and still play a little piano.

Fun Fact #2: I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science and went to graduate school for work in Artificial Intelligence but that was a lifetime ago and I couldn't program to save my life now!
